Please describe how you got this photo.
I was visiting Chicago’s Willis/Sears Tower to see the Ledges they have on the observation deck ( They are the glass boxes that stick 4 feet out of the building so sightseers can go and stand in them and look straight down. I was walking toward the ledges when I noticed that the people in them were silhouetted. So I just pointed the camera and fired off a shot. I looked at my histogram to see if my settings were good, I readjusted and looked through the viewfinder again. That is when I noticed that the 3 people were each looking and taking pictures in 3 different directions so I fired off another shot and ended up with what I submitted here. The glass in the Ledges is rather thick (3 layers of 1/2-inch thick tempered glass), and so there’s that distortion that you see there.

{loadposition inpage} Did you use any special techniques?
Nothing special as far as techniques go. I was already out of the regular windows throughout the observation deck so I was already exposing for the outside. I just had to fine tune the exposure to get the silhouetting to look the way I wanted. Because I did not stage the people in the photo, I only got the one shot of them before they moved. I pulled this from a total of 2 stabs at it.
